Computer Aided Design:
The Freeman Company has one seat of CATIA V 5 Rev. 19 which is used to import OEM model files, verifies customer designs, and forms the basis of our production planning process for “New Generation” product production. A second seat of Solid Works is used for the less complex IGIS files as well as building models of the legacy products to check for “Fits-and-Clearances.” Both systems feed wire frame models into our CAM system to determine “least – path” methods of manufacturing. These systems are “Model-based-definition” approved by Boeing Commercial Airplane Company, Spirit Aerosystems and by Bell Helicopter-Textron.

CAM:
Partmaker allows for the import of IGIS files directly from CATIA V 5 and Solid Works into the solid model software which in turn is used for the DNC programming for Freeman’s 2 thru 6 axis DNC Lathes and 3 and 4-axis DNC Vertical and Horizontal mills.
